The first step in this assignment involved selecting a central theme to define my imaginary venue. To ensure the concept was engaging enough, I researched a variety of potential themes. After considering the options, I decided to centre my venue around a tech event. My choice was heavily influenced by my confidence in my animation skills I had learnt from the practical exercises we worked on during class. I envisioned the venue as an apple-like store, but that wont be seen during this animation.

Storyboard

Once I had a clear understanding about my chosen venue I sketched up my storyboard. This assists me greatly as I can refer back to it whilst designing my assets and animating them. Instead of making it up as I go along.

Mova text logo

For my venue I made a decision to move away from using fonts and lettering for creating my title. Instead of relying on that I chose for a more abstract approach, constructing my venue’s title using shapes created in Illustrator. This design choice was to convey originality and create a visual identity that would be immediately recognizable and unique to the venue, which I named “MOVA.”

Mova logo designs

For my smaller logo, I wanted to maintain a sense of originality and consistency with the larger design. Therefore, I decided to use the ‘M’ from “MOVA” as the primary element. This approach ensures that the smaller logo is unique and visually connected to the main brand. Using the same colours too helped side both designs together.
