Brief
As part of my project, I was assigned the task of creating a brief. This exercise allowed me to gain a much deeper understanding of the overall purpose and direction of the project. At the start I focused on clarifying exactly what I was creating and why it was important. This step guided me in helping to define the goals and objectives of the project, ensuring that every decision later on would align with the intended vision and outcomes. By understanding the ‘why’ behind the project, I could approach it with a clearer sense and direction.
Developing the creative brief also required me to think critically about who the project was for. Identifying the target audience was an essential part of the process, as it influenced the tone, style, and overall design decisions. I needed to consider the audience’s preferences, needs, and expectations to ensure that the final outcome would appeal to them effectively. This step involved exploring user personas and demographics to establish a clear picture of who I was designing for.
Why?
This project is meant to help invite an audience towards cinemas more often. Due to the rising popularity of streaming platforms people don’t feel the need to come and spend money on going to the cinema and watching the latest movie, whilst they can stay at home and wait a few months after release to watch it on their phone.
I am hoping to create my own brand that invites certain audiences to come down to the cinema to watch the movie on the big screen.
Who For?
My intended target audience may vary depending on the age of the viewers. Below are some examples
18–24: May tend to favour action, sci-fi, and fantasy blockbusters
25–34: Perhaps genres like action, comedy, drama, and romance
35–44 Adults: This group still has significant engagement and often balances between family-friendly animations and more mature narratives
Older adults: This audience may be interested in dramas, comedies, and nostalgic films

Plans after Graduation
At first I understood what kind of work within Graphic Design I possibly work best in, what software’s I am more memorable to the most. Graphic design branding and marketing are two fields that require a mix of creative, technical, and strategic skills. Strong visual communication skills are essential as designers must understand colour theory, typography, composition, and layout to create visually appealing and effective designs. Design software’s such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is also vital. Creativity and attention to detail help designers produce original work that aligns with a brand’s message. Additionally, problem-solving and time management skills are crucial for meeting client needs and deadlines efficiently.

I have begun a bit of research within branding and marketing for graphic design roles on job listing sites. This is what made me realise that this project shall lead me into filling in the gaps to any skills I may have to learn before looking for work.
